Hey everyone. Beth here. I've had A Whole New World stuck in my head for two weeks. Let's do this.

Watching Aladdin this time around was more mind-blowing than the first time I saw The Matrix. I knew up until the moment I re-watched the movie that "diamond in the rough" was referring to a large gem that sits in a rough rock wall in the Cave of Wonders. The Cave tells Aladdin he can touch anything in the cave except for the diamond in the rough. Abu spots the jewel, his eyes become saucers and he grabs the diamond with his tiny monkey hands.

NONE OF THIS IS TRUE.

The diamond in the rough is Aladdin. The Cave of Wonders tells Aladdin he can't touch ANYTHING in the cave (except for the lamp). And the diamond is more of a large ruby sitting in the hands of a golden statue. Also, the walls are not rough rock, but they are made of sand (duh).

What else do I supposedly "know"?!

Turns out: more things. I went to trivia with some friends not a week after my Aladdin revelation. We were asked to name bands from Wisconsin. Someone suggested Garbage as an answer. Someone else stated Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson is from the UK.

"No, she's not." I replied. "She is Marilyn Manson's sister."

"No, she's not."

"YES, SHE IS!" I argued.

Shirley Manson is from Scotland. The rest of the band is from Madison, Wisconsin (point at trivia!). Shirley flew back and forth between Edinburgh and Madison for most of Garbage's career. And it turns out Marilyn Manson isn't even his real name! It's Brian Hugh Warner.

What probably happened was I saw a photo of Shirley Manson and thought, "A Manson with heavy eye makeup? Must be Marilyn's sister." And for fifteen years I believed they were siblings.

I want you to understand that in my mind this was a FACT. It's like I had taken the blue pill and was blissfully living in a matrix where Shirley and Marilyn Manson got their start rocking out in their parents' garage together.

Now I've taken the large red ruby-shaped pill and am seeing how deep this rabbit hole goes. It's like... I'm... in... a whole new wooooorld. Unbelievable sights. Indescribable feel-ings. Please someone help me I can't stop sing-ing this song.
