Synopsis: Troy (Zac Efron), a "basketball guy," and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), a "freaky genius," discover their love of singing (and each other?) after a chance encounter at a ski resort. After learning that they attend the same high school, they decide to audition together for the leads in the musical, putting them in the crosshairs of theater-obsessed siblings Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) and Ryan Evans (Luca Grabeel) as well as just generally upsetting everyone else in their lives for being interested in more than one thing.
